Carini: “Responsible choice shared with partners, we are an important event for the city and Fvg”
The 4th edition of the Trieste Running Festival is officially postponed to 2021. The decision was taken by the organizers, the Apd Miramar, considering the safety measures in force for the containment of infections from Covid 19.
The Trieste Silver Marathon, the half marathon now in its 25th edition, will therefore be held on Sunday 2 May 2021 and all registrations received so far will be considered valid.
On the same day, thus celebrating the great return of one of Trieste’s most beloved symbols, the Bavisela Family will also be held, the traditional non-competitive race from Miramare to Piazza Unità d’Italia. The festival will start on April 29 with the Bavisela Young, the children’s race.
“We have carefully evaluated with the institutions and our sporting references all the local possibilities – explains Fabio Carini, president of Apd Miramar – agreeing on the definitive postponement of the twenty-five year anniversary of our spectacular Half Marathon to next year as they were not there before and there aren’t any the conditions to ensure a peaceful and sustainable development of an event of such international importance. It is a difficult choice as much as it is responsible and guarantees the health and sporting values that are the basis of every event organized by Apd Miramar. We are however already working to ensure the next May, Trieste can best relive its main popular event which, it must be remembered, attracts almost two thousand runners and enthusiasts from all over Italy and over 40 countries from all over the world to Fvg. It is still early to announce the great news to come but they will certainly be positive “.
