TRIESTE RUNNING FESTIVAL, ALMOST 8THOUSAND RUNNERS OVERALL: OLIVIER IRABARUTA WINS THE 21K

Almost 8thousand participants overall, 1900 at the start of the Trieste 21K, 5500 in the Generali Miramar Family, non competitive event, and over one hundred runners in the competitive 7k Miramarun Challenge.

Olivier Irabaruta (Parco Alpi Apuane) with a time of 1:03:01 is the winner of the Trieste 21K half marathon; among the women the first to cross the finish line is Elvanie Nimbona (Caivano Runners) in 1:12:54. A completely new race course with start from Aurisina, for one of the most scenic routes in the world along the coastal road and the finish line in piazza Unità d’Italia.
Anthony Ayeko (Toscana Atletica Futura) came in second with a time of 1:06:47, Francesco Bona (Aeronautica Militare) third in 1:07:05. For the women, Uganda’s Chesang Dorsen finished second with a time of 1:14:15, Rosaria Console (Fiamme Gialle) third in 1:14:24.
In the Miramarun Challenge Andrea Lanza came in first, Frank Micheal second , Rocco Sorrentino third, Valentina Bonanni first woman, Stefania Pilotti second, Bettina Braun third. Results list is available online at https://www.tds-live.com.
Almost 8thousand participants overall, in the Trieste 21K with almost 1900 participants at the start in a very international race with 46 different nations taking part.
The Generali Miramar Family, non-competitive event, and the Miramarun Challenge, competitive (7k), started from Miramare.
These races mark the conclusion of 2018 Trieste Running Festival, a whole week of sport events, organized by Apd Miramar and 42K srl.
